Alan Breen, Managing Director

Alan Breen has held the role of Managing Director since May 2007.

He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Management from the University of Adelaide. As a metallurgist with Anglo American Corporation, Mr Breen worked extensively around the African continent until the mid 1980’s when he moved to Australia. 

Over the past 20 years he has worked in senior management and executive roles with Rio Tinto, Xstrata and RGC in gold, base metals, aluminium and coal sectors. 

Nigel Parker, General Manager Commercial

Nigel Parker holds a Masters of Commerce Degree from the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia and is a Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Mr Parker brings to OTML some 30 years of business experience, 16 of those years with BHP Steel / BlueScope Steel in management appointments in the USA, Sri Lanka, Thailand, China, PNG and Australia. 

Neale Laffin, Acting General Manager Operations

Neale Laffin has a Graduate Diploma in Maintenance Management and has over 34 years of experience in the mining industry largely in the maintenance area.

Previously with Zinifex Century Mine in Queensland Australia, he was the Engineering and Site Services Manager and prior to that spent six years working in South America.

Mr Laffin moved to OTML in September 2004 when he accepted the job of Manager Fixed Plant Maintenance.

He was appointed to the role of Executive Manager Mill in May 2006.

David Masani, General Manager Business Support 

David Masani is a geologist by profession.

He joined OTML in 1988 and has held various positions within the company including Manager Mine Production.

Mr Masani’s responsibilities include looking after the affairs of the mine-affected communities, from the project area in the Star Mountains to the Fly River delta in the Gulf of Papua.

Shelley Jones, General Manager Human Resource 

Shelley Jones commenced employment with OTML in September 2007 as General Manager Human Resource.

Ms Jones has a Bachelor of Commerce, a Bachelor of Education (Post Graduate) and a Masters Degree in Organisational Behaviour, all obtained from the University of Melbourne in Australia.

She has over 25 years of experience in the field of Human Resource and has worked with five different organisations in senior HR roles.

Ms Jones has also held key positions such as Executive General Manager, Director HR and CEO

Musje Werror, General Manager Corporate Relations

Musje Werror is based in OTML’s corporate office in Port Moresby.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry.

He joined OTML under the company’s Graduate Development Scheme in 1988 and worked with the company for 11 years. He left in 1999 and returned three years later and has since been here.

Mr Werror has held various positions at OTML including Executive Manager - Ok Tedi Development Foundation.

Ian Sheppard, General Manager Business Development 

Ian Sheppard took on the role of General Manager Business Development in 2007.

He has worked for a number of Australian mining operations, and joined OTML in 2004 as Executive Manager, Planning and Technical Services. 

Mr Sheppard has a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and MSc in Mineral Economics.
