Storey) Date: August 2003 Metal levels (Cu, Cd, Pb &Zn) were determined for whole animal tissue samples from mud clams collected from sites in the Fly River estuary and control estuaries. Differences were examined between areas (inner, middle and outer Fly Estuary and control sites) and reporting periods (1994//95, 1998/99, 2000/01 and 2001/02). Additionally, the dietary intake of metals by local villagers consuming shell fish was assessed. |
