  1. Ore is mined from an open pit, where it is crushed and conveyed to the mill for processing. The resulting concentrate is a slurry.
  2. The slurry is transported through a 157-kilometre pipeline that has an internal diameter of 150 millimetres.
  3. The pipeline takes the slurry to the river port of Kiunga, where the concentrate is filtered and dried.
  4. The dried concentrate is then shipped down the Fly River in barges.
  5. The concentrate is stored in a silo vessel anchored in the Gulf of Papua or at Port Moresby depending on weather conditions. The concentrate is then loaded onto ocean-going ships destined for international customers.
