Ok Tedi Recognises 386 Long Service Employees

Loyalty, commitment, and dedication are traits that made Malakati Anguai work with Ok Tedi Mining Limited (Ok Tedi) for the last 40 years.
Mr Anguai, the Superintendent for Processing Support, is one of three employees who have served Ok Tedi for 40 years. They are among the 386 employees who were awarded long service awards with service years ranging from 5 years to 40 years.
The 15 to 40 year awardees were recognised at a special dinner event last month while the five to 10 year service awardees were recognised with various presentation ceremonies at their respective departments.
Ok Tedi Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kedi Ilimbit thanked the 386 employees for their significant contributions, dedication, commitment and loyalty to the company in their respective service years.
Every year Ok Tedi hosts a special event to recognise its employees who have achieved long service milestones.

Ok Tedi takes pride in its efforts to nurture and develop Papua New Guineans, as 98 percent of the company’s workforce are nationals. Of the 386 employees: 19 received recognition for 20 years of service, 21 received recognition for 25 years of service, eight received recognition for 30 years of service, five received recognition for 35 years of service, and three received recognitions for 40 years of service.
Apart from Mr Anguai, Mr Ilbin Mike, and Mr Jeffery Dihin also received their 40 years’ service awards. Mr Dihin is a Processing Plant Trainer, and Mr Ilbin is a Dozer/Grader Operator with the Mine Operations team.
Mr Anguai thanked Ok Tedi for being the employer of choice for him and his family for the last 40 years.
